Firefly Surface – next-generation emergency lighting in a surface-mount enclosure

Complementing the recent Firefly discreet emergency luminaire, Thorlux Lighting is proud to introduce the new Firefly Surface.
Firefly Surface is a robust and durable emergency luminaire with IP65 and IK10 ratings. Thorlux has designed Firefly Surface to ensure legislative compliance and safety for rugged industrial environments, as well as more typical applications where recessed mounting is not possible.
Like the regular recessed Firefly, the new Firefly Surface features five advanced optics that increase spacing and reduce the quantity of luminaires required to achieve a compliant scheme. Furthermore, it meets the latest BS EN 1838:2024, BS EN 50172:2024 and BS 5266-1:2025 standards.
Firefly Surface is available with SmartScan Emergency integration - providing market-leading control, testing, and reporting via the award-winning Thorlux wireless lighting management system. These versions come with a genuine, market-leading ten-year product and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery warranty.
Notably, Firefly Surface achieves the elevated levels of sustainability expected from modern Thorlux luminaires, with a 42% reduction in total embodied carbon, less energy use, and a doubled life expectancy compared to the previous model.
